This bottle was opened for an hour before pouring though it wasn't decanted. The second glass, 3 hours later and after dinner has opened up into a tastier and richer tasting wine. Along with the blackberry fruit and light tannins there is a lot of earth and tobacco. The acid seems to be nicely balanced with the fruit.

WA cab franc can be terrific...his one is only very good. The cork was pretty rotten, but the wine seemed unaffected. I would not hold on to this much longer.

Did not have high expectations for this wine, but was pleasantly surprised. It was not as tannic and off-putting as some Washington Cab Francs tend to be. Paired well with an olive and salami stone-baked pizza. Nice finish. Will look for additional bottles.

This was similarly terrific to the Saviah 2010 Une Vallee we had w/it. Hung w/a Denner Ditchdigger tonight as well, see the Une Vallee notes.
