Little to add to my 1/7/15 note on this wine. Opaque purple. Nose of cedar, smoke, blackberry, and vanilla. Ripe full palate of dark fruit, leather, licorice, and espresso. Excellent length. Refreshing acidity. Sweet tannins. Nicely integrated oak.
The wine has satin-like texture. The body is medium/full. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. The wine has low acidity. It tastes like black pepper. The legs are medium. The wine looks purple colored. The wine finishes medium.
Very interesting. I'm not a great fan of Shiraz, but we visited the winery and bought a case. We put it down until now. Ok, here's the deal: for a Shiraz, I thought it was probably the best one I've had. That said: give me a $20 cab and it blows it away. My son refused to drink it and gave me his glass. So, in conclusion, we didn't dig it.
