Drinking superbly well at this point and for those of us that bought in on release at the original release price this is now one excellent QPR wine. Fully mature, perhaps just off peak with fruit starting to fall off a bit and strong secondary flavors settling in. Reddish purple, bricking present, fully integrated with not much in the way of oak & tannins, soft, medium - full bodied and with a lovely lingering aftertaste. Nose dark and muted with plum, dark cherry, black tea and leather. Flavor profile showing age with minimal oak and no tannins present. Dark fruit, typical cassis and more blue- then blackberry up front with leather, wet stone, black tea and a hint of anise on the mid- late palate and a smokey grilled meat finish. 5th of 9 bottles purchased at release as up until recently we had been drinking the CA CT '10's of which we purchased a large amount and also the early releases of the CT WA state Rasa made syrahs. Anticipate drinking up the remaining 4 within the next 8-12 months - time to start drinking up any remaining holdings.

One of our project wines from the 2011 vintage. This one named after our eldest son. It is also drinking great, very smooth. The fruit and spice not quite as bold as the Rutherford, but still tasty. The tannins were lighter on this wine. While it was tasty with our beef stew, it was not quite as good as the Rutherford.
