Certainly marked by the vintage, this could be a northern Rhone syrah blind. Despite its atypicity (or maybe typical, within the context of the vintage?) it is pretty harmonious, if a touch gruff. Now browning at the rim, this is on the downward slope and should be drunk now. Shows best with some rustic food and total ignorance of how much bottles of Burgundy can go for.

Ripe dark fruit and some oak on the nose and palate. Big and juicy yet a bit too modern and ripe. The vintage character is well reflected. Not burgundian or balanced at all, but the wine-maker's bold structure is still noticeable. The previous bottle I had 2 years ago was much better.

Decanted for 1 hr plus. I think it is necessary. Fruit forward, strawberries, raspberries, minty, herbs and spices. With aeration, the cedar wood has emerged. It had very sweet and ripe red fruit. Drinking very well now.

Inky black, a little gamey and needs time to open up. Drinking well now but has plenty of life on it.
