Reduced upon opening, so put this into the decanter, and then enjoyed over several hours. Took an hour for the reduction to clear up, and then the cherry fruit, florals and spice started to come out. Still a bit reserved, which is unusual for 2010s, but a promising future ahead with upside from here.
Beautiful and sensual, everyone loved it and it kept changing, I was worried it would be too young but it showed really well, it could have aged longer but it was truly lovely so no regret

Blackberry, non sweet blueberry, deep red fruits. The whole spectrum. Cinnamon and a bit of warm spice but also cranberry. Rose petals somewhere. Really spectacular.

(BYO Blind tasting) Full and rich and complex nose. Raspberry, herbs, spice and mineralty. A bit four-square. Medium-fullish palate. Velvety tannins. Succulent raspberry fruit. Spicy and long. Very good concentration. But also slightly rustic and four-square. Not as elegant as most Volnay tends to be, this was more in the Pommard direction. But the fantastic vintage delivers again!

Opened for a friend's wine group at Queen's English on D.C. - unlike the bottle from just 2 night's prior, this bottle opened up beautifully and seemed to be one of the group's favorites. Really lovely red fruit; great nose. Plan on opening the '09 and '10 side-by-side sometime soon.
