  • From magnum. Great wine, though surprising as well. Very sweet and rich on the nose, with both petrol ánd botrytis alongside the entire range of tropical fruit. Much fresher and dryer on the palate. Great example of aged Austrian riesling from a renowned wine maker. Will last for at least one more decade.

  • Ein grandioser Wein!! Nichts Fettes!! Alles in Balance, Druck, sehr lang!!! Ich glaube blind fällt es schwer auf die Wachau zu kommen!? Austria at its best!!!! Auf dem Niveau des 1997ers!! Jetzt bis 2030 trinken!!!

  • Quite exciting, nicely aged top Wachau Riesling from the Spitzer Graben. Nose with sweet honey, apricot, botrytis and some mature Riesling notes (petrol).
The palate is quite different with crisp acidity and salinity but also some creaminess. Quite mature now, but it should stay at this level for another decade, depending on personal preference.

  • A Visit to Dana Estates (Dana Estates): Coravined (with care). Jason brought this along for lunch and it was gorgeous. Beautiful melange of mangos, peaches, and pears. The acidity was crisp and the fruit beautifully layered and deep. There were some subtle signs of age with hints of petrol and lychee popping up on the finish. This is in such a great place right now, but can certainly keep aging for some time.

  • Rich golden color - nose of botrytis with honey, apricots, pears, exotic fruits. Palate is surprising given the nose as it is dry with crisp acidity. Long finish of citrus, tangerine, and grapefruit coupled with that honeyed note. This wine is a conundrum for those that don't understand Austrian wine - if you are willing, try with an open mind and you will be pleasantly surprised!
