  shared this with pat at selkirk manor. held onto this bottle because of the unique shape of the bottle as well as limited feedback from other members. this wine has gone the extra mile. not as complex as what was described by the winemaker at the time of bottling. interestingly, however, this bottle was a little more forthcoming than the previous one which we had three years ago. dark color. no browning or fading. plum fruit. not much else. slightly bordeaux like but still one dimensional. should probably have enjoyed when younger.

  Opened this 11 year old wine and was pleasantly surprised. The initial flavor was very grapey. 10 minutes after opening, a flavor of plums arrived. This wine was perfect - most of the wood/tannins had dropped off and the fruit was strong and delicious. Not much complexity left, but ready to drink now. It was not past its prime, showing that proper cellaring had allowed it to age well. I think it could have lasted another year or two, but alas, this was our only bottle. Perfect with the BBQ ribs we ate!

  shared this at home with pat. slightly reminiscent of bordeau but somewhat one dimensional. current retail runs $25 to $75 for a 750. i doubt that i would buy again, even in the $25 to $30 range. would probably buy on closeout to take advantage of 1/2 bottle format although i wish that the wine was more appealing.
