  Last of six bottles purchased in January 2012. This is an excellent food wine that will pair well with smoked brisket, ribs, chicken, Mexican food, and other types of smoked, grilled, and spicy foods. Although this will drink well for another 1-2 years, it's in a fantastic place right now. Well balanced and neither jammy nor oaky, still showing spicy, wild dark and red berries, mocha, and pepper. Very approachable and smooth with mild tannins.

  Decanted an hour. Red berry, cherry, caramel, and floral on the nose. Palate is darker berry, cherry, spice. Mild tannin. Nice full, long finish. A little too flat and simple to be great, but still a very nice Zin.
