  • Fresh and clean with beautiful mix of mineral, peas/ beans, citrus pith, and a herbal lift. It's a beautiful, terribly food friendly wine that is mouthwatering and layered yet simultaneously easy to drink. Much easier to drink and enjoy with food than many Smaragd's of the same soil. As said by Salil re: the same wine, "It makes me wonder why do I not cellar more Federspiel?" A beautiful youthful wine that is greater with food. Beautiful.

  • Fantastic showing, and a bottle that made me wonder why I don't cellar more Federspiel. So much going on here, with layers of citrus fruit, greener herbal and bean-like notes, saline and stony elements and a faint crackery savouriness all coming together seamlessly, and a remarkable sense of lightness on the palate. Wonderful wine.
