  • Pleasant bottle of Petit Verdot, and was enjoyed by all. However it was lacking in interest. Medium body, balanced, dark fruit profile, but no spark. Just a straightforward red that acted as a compliment, not a focus.

  • Wife: "Oh, wow. What is that? It tastes like, like, I'm drinking love. Mmm this is good."

Star anise/black licorice and dark fruits, medium body that coats the palate with soft tannins and just enough acid to wash down food and make you want to take another sip.

  • Didn't know exactly what to expect. This was really quite delicious. Decanted for over an hour. Extremely soft tannins....silky in mouth. Quite fruity but not "jammy". Enjoyable long sweet (not bitter or acidic) finish. Nicely balanced wine. Will try 2nd bottle in a couple of years.

  • From earlier in the month. I couldn't resist my curiosity about a predominantly Petit Verdot based wine, yet I failed to write a proper note. My impression was of a mix of Cab Franc, only less herbal, crossed with ripe but not over-extracted Cahors. Approachable, balanced, structured, and generally delicious. Enjoyable, distinctive bottle. Decanted, better on day 2, will try to hold remainder for several years.

(Rasa Vineyards Living in the Limelight Petit Verdot Columbia Valley) Dark in color. A lightly aromatic wine with floral notes, bittersweet chocolate, and cherry. The palate is soft but structured with tar and cherry flavors leading to a hyper-extended finish. 90% Petit Verdot (Dionysus Vineyard), 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French oak (20% new). 15.0% alcohol. 80 cases produced. Sampled at 61 degrees.
