Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Medium ruby color. Nice nose of earthy oak, plums. Lively on the palate, as raspberry and allspice flavors with a few mushroom notes ride bright berry-like acidity. Finishes longer than I expected, as the fruit acids carry things through, opening cranberry and orange peel notes over very low tannins. This is a thoroughly credible bottle of Barbera that invites slurping, while the acid levels encourage me to put a couple of bottles away.

(Vino Noceto Barbera Linsteadt) Dark cherry red color; appealing, tart cherry, red fruit, oak spice nose; tasty, ripe cherry, tart cherry, red berry, raspberry palate; medium-plus finish (probably the best California Barbera I've tasted)
