This stuff is still packing some heat. Little hot on entry and on the finish. Raisin notes definitely still present buy I don't think it is as prevalent as it was a year ago. Giving way to a little bit of smokey tobacco like notes helping to round out the sweetness. Still really enjoying this and it's only going to get better and more complex.
Gave this more time and still didn't like it. I guess its a style I can't quite appreciate. Stewed raisin, flabby. Had with an array of desserts as well as by itself and didn't ever like it or the pairings.
The Madeira influence throws some people who don't know what to expect. That sort of sherry, sort of raisin port, with a hint of cocoa. Well done desert wine. Its all in the eye of the beholder, but this will get better with age.
Nose: A little bit of chocolate, figs and unfortunately sulfur. Is it bad? Taste: I am wondering if this is a corked bottle. I still taste the strong taste of raisin but there is also something a little off. Since it is a fortified wine, I am not sure.
