NC Cindy Tasting, Pre-Christmas 2011 (NC Wino's Stately Wayne Manor): An absolutely gorgeous gold in the glass, the nose was simply spectacular with orange peel, honey, tangelo, and both gold and white flowers. On the palate, there was still some of that honey, but the citrus reflected more of a lighter lemony aspect. But that was contrasted with the indefinable richness of the botrytis, along with candied orange peel, apricot, peach and warm butterscotch. This wine was complex, long, delicious and oh, so smooth. As Bill put it, this was "orgasmic". It lived up to the hype of the vintage, and will last 25 years if not longer. The folks who gave this an under-90 rating were tasting something quite different than what I had, as I'm wondering if my 94 score is high enough. An outstanding bottle of dessert wine, and a fantastic way to end an evening.
