Decanted several hours. Very sweet nose with cherry, strawberry, leather notes, vanilla and citrus fruit. Finish is long with cigarette tobacco leaf and dry tree bark. Tannins on the finish are well integrated but a little drying. A good Rioja but at this price you can do better. Drink 2013 to 2018.

Wow, what a wine! One of the biggest and most expressive noses I have ever come across: flavors of dried cranberry and bright red fruit exploding out of the glass with an interesting candy/white chocolate layer on top. I could sniff this wine all afternoon! The palete changed considerably over the 3 or 4 hours we drank it as it decanted (NOTE: This wine absolutely needs at least an hour of breathing to come alive, and improves steadily for another 2hrs or so... does peak after that though). Initially it was bright red fruit with a great complex background of oak and leather and soil. Changed later into a deeper more brooding wine dominated by slate and earth flavors with an interesting green almost sage-like flavor to it. Fascinating to watch it change and enjoyed it at every stage. This is exceptional Rioja!!

Decanted 1 hour, showed its best after hour 2 and continued to improved in the glass after that. Only 4 years old and I am amazed how well this is drinking right now. Really nice nose concentration is immediately apparent, even with my nose a good 2 inches away from the glass. Intense full dark fruit of stewed plum and black cherry with strong back-up elements of nutmeg & earthy/barnyard notes. Well put together now, but will definitely reward the patient who can wait 5 more for this stuff to integrate. 91 pts now, but could see scores in the 92-94 range once it hits its prime drinking window; likely 2017-2021. Definitely has the all of the essential moving parts.

Ok one. Not worth the price though ($55).
