Southern Rhone and Thereabouts (SF Wine Trading Company): Ruby, lighter edge. All garrigue and anise on the nose. Lighter weight, crisp black fruit that fades quickly and veers toward olive and herbs. Not enough substance to recommend this, but might be okay in the context of food.

Spiced coffee and pepper aromas accent the red berry fruit. Bright acid and silky tannins make this easy to drink. The plum, cherry and red currant fruit tastes snappy and spicy. I really dig the olive and black pepper kick on the finish. Seems destined for drinking over the two years or so, but it’s good stuff. A 50/50 blend of Mourvedre and Syrah.

A go-to wine for me, which seems to deliver in every vintage - but, I do like them better with a litlle bottle age. This has all the makings to be another superb version, but at this time lacks fleshiness and depth (although air exposure solved this to a degree). Medium-bodied with a pure, straightforward nose and palate. Aromatic profile blends dark plums with hints of cherry, bark, grilled meats, and wood smoke. The palate has more dark plums with Provencal herbs and spice.

Definately well made stuff. Spicy syrah and then power from the Mourvedre.

Kind of lost a bit after it was decanted for 2hrs. Berry notes with a nice finish. Not much in the way of tannins but decent finish.
