Light burgundy red in color with an ever-so slight hint of rust; strong alcohol on nose overpowers a ripe fruit nose. Flavors of currant, cherry and ripe plum. Tannin comes thru on a not overly long finish. Reasonably nice balance. Spousal unit gives it an 88. I'd be hard-pressed to give it more than an 84, leaving us with an average of 86.
Appearance:Medium ruby core, medium rim. Nose: Savoury red fruits (raspberry), light/medium intensity. Palate: Medium bodied with crisp red fruit and firm tannins which are a little rough on the short, somewhat rustic finish. Good.
