  • One of the best modern Xinomavro wines around.
Still full of freshness and youth. Redolent with aromas of berry fruit, strawberry, savoury leathery notes, sleek texture, firm tannins and very clean refreshing finish due to its quite high acidity.

  • Brought my last bottle to the bar for the rest to try.
Clear and bright red color and overall red profile in terms of aromas and flavors too. There was a spicy element along with a more tomato/leafy one, that kept getting stronger as time went by. The last couple of glasses were really fine but there was a slight dissapointment as far as strength and concentration were concerned. The wine was balanced but a bit thin and I have to say I expected more from this one.
On the other hand, the wine was a delight to drink, was great on its own and would be nice with food as well. It had a clarity of flavors that was beautiful and it might be that I was wrong to expect a different profile of what the wine tastes when its young in the first place.
Outstanding quality, the wine feels that it has reached its peak and should be drank now to really enjoy the fruit. If only it had more strength...

  • Two hours breathing, made it an excellent accompaniment to our Christmas 2014 dinner (Roasted goose stuffed with celery, chestnuts, cranberries, figs and bacon)

  • Veering a little toward the modern side of the spectrum, with its darker concentration and little whiff of oak, but the firm tannins and earthiness of the fruit keep things in balance. This is very fine and serious indeed, and needs more time (or a few hours in the decanter). Even if my own palate favors a slightly brighter, less dense style of Xinomavro, I think this would appeal to a lot of people, and cannot deny the quality.

  • Consistent with my previous note from last year. This wine is still quite young. Excellent bottle of wine. Will hold my remaining bottles for several years as I believe this will be stellar after some aging.
