Great bottle tonight. Triple vinturi'd as it seemed pretty tight to begin. rather opaque. Deep, brooding aromas of blackberry, bittersweet chocolate and some woodsy tannins on the finish. Beautiful old vine fruit.. something special. Young with much upside, but very enjoyable now.
Day 2 (from 375, recorked upon opening last night). Fruit a bit more predominant, lots of Blackberry and some boysenberry. I little wood and find earthy tannins on the finish, but a little less balanced than last night. still very enjoyable.
Decanted 1 hour. Garnet in the glass. Very well-balanced with cherry and blackberry fruit. Almost cabernet like, and absolutely delicious. This was ready to rock now, but had plenty of stuffing to cellar for years.
