  • Similar to last year's bottle. Definitely has matured from a couple years ago and has a rich profile of tobacco, cherry, mushroom.

  • Magnum was much more closed and backwards than the regular bottle which was singing right off the bat. Decant magnums or better keep them in the cellar for 2-3 more years.

  • Nose is black cherry and tobacco. Palate is unctuous and dark fruity. Quite Satisfying.

  • Very interesting. This has definitely progressed since I tasted this two years ago. The oak has blown off and overall it is much more integrated. Nose is black cherry and tobacco. Palate is unctuous and dark fruity. Satisfying.

  • Immediately appealing but gets much better with air. A 75% Garnacha dominated red blend (with roughly equal parts Syrah, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon). Warm toned aromas of cranberry-pomegranate-red currant fruit and some mineral smokiness that smooths out with air time. Palate has pedigree and discipline, not all over the place like some Spanish Garnacha bombs; well structured, with vinous notes of delicate but tart red fruit, meat, smoke, ending with tannic grip and moderate length. I had this with apple wood smoked ham and left-over sage dressing. I believe it would show better with a meat that is not so sweet. Good now until 2016?
