  • Decanted this wine on the advice of others. Very well structured wine. Many different berry flavors, blue, currant, wild on the nose. Very long finish with just the right balance of tannins.

  • Tight out of the box, give it 20 mins to settle and open up once you open it. Slightly sweet nose, maybe a hint of sprinkled cocoa. With some time you begin to get blackcurrant, plum, and a little raisin. Med to low tannins. Little bit of cherry and violets on the nose and palate. A little earthy on the finish. Good in many areas, but not great in any one area. Nose is the sweetest, best part. This is a solid, good wine, that softens and sweetens and finally raisins as you go. Nothing dissapointing here. Drink it now, enjoy it now! There simply aren't enough tannins to hold it beyond 2005.

  • Pretty decent wine. Blue/ruby color, medium extraction. Nose was fairly rich, with dark, black fruit, leather, and bits of anise. The palate was a bit of a letdown, especially considering I remember this being a much better wine 18 months ago. Attack mirrored the nose in flavors, but there was almost no mid-palate save some grapey flavors, and the finish kind of disappeared before it got going. 88 might be generous...
