The wine looks light brown colored. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like medium toast, cherry, forest floor and black olive. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Late Oct 2021: slightly brownish purple red color; intense and opulent bouquet of dark and red berries with cocoa and butterscotch notes; juicy with a haggard touch on the palate.

Turkey BBQ late Sep 2020: thick brownish crimson color; melange of dark and red fruits aromas spiked with some coffee; chocolate flavor in the mouth, sweet, silky and slightly furry on the palate; full body; medium finish.
The bottle described here was fully developed, maybe already even slightly beyond its peak. Bought three bottles of this wine soon after release of the vintage directly at the Knipser winery. Stored the bottles in the part of my cellar without temperature control. So more temperature controlled storage conditions could be advisable for this wine if you want to slow down development. I'll open another bottle soon to verify my "already beyond it's peak" point.

Very round and smooth pinot. Dark plum and cherry aromas, supported by chocolate like undertones from probably a heavily toasted Barrique make the wine a very balanced drink. Tinnins have melted, acidity is nicely integrated. Great wine! I think at peak drinking now.
