Purchased recently from a shop who’ve held it since release. I was mildly concerned that the fill was down at the bottom of the neck, but this bottle turned out to be in great shape. My first Principiano, and it was a treat. Very classic profile and a really enjoyable food wine. Tannins nicely softened, but still some grip. To me, approaching maturity and ready to drink. Some possible upside from here with 5+ years.

Barolo at 15-16 years, waov, really nice - and what a development since last tasted back in 2014 where it was quite tannic; medium rusty orange red; nice earthy notes, inviting light licorice; smooth and well-tasting, fresh, still a hint of tannins which give it a bit of nerve; long nice lingering aftertaste; special, a real pleasure

Barolo Boys - the third edition (67 Pall Mall): A single cru neighbouring Conterno's Cascina Francia. 65yo vines. Lots of other reviews noting this is excessively tannic, but they were obviously drinking the wine too young as this example was resolved and superb. Tea, truffle and soft red fruit on the nose. Very juicy and elegant on the palate, and just so drinkable already, but has the concentration to go another 20 years or so.

On opening, flowers, marzipan, paint shop that blew off after an hour or so. Opened up nicely after that showing more of classical Nebbiolo notes of dark fruit and roses. Fine but fierce tannin. Needs more time but this seems to have an overweight of tannin.
