Nose of watermelon strawberry, orange zest, and mandarin orange, metallic red in the glass, medium/large amount of tiny bubbles, more of the same on the palate, very tasty with the smoked salmon and capers, a touch simple, medium body, a Champagne to sip, savor and enjoy after paying your income tax, and a lingering finish.

Christmas Day 2015 (Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nose of intense perfume, watermelon, sweet fruit, and orange peel, great mousse, deep bronze/red color in the glass, lots of tiny bubbles, more of the same on the palate, rich tasty fruit, a touch simple, medium body, medium/long finish.

Not all that impressed with this 50/50 Pinot/Pinot blend. Sour watermelon, subdued strawberry, and candied twizzler? made for an interesting Champagne. Not a blockbuster, but this would be better with a cheese course rather than just by itself. Disg. 2013. and I wish that I would have drank this sooner, fresher.

This is a very interesting rose. 60 percent Meuniere and 40 percent Pinot Noir. Lovely nose with dark fruit/red wine aromas, some roses. Great color, rather dark for a rose which makes a great contrast with the mousse. On the palate it is richer in red wine fruit flavors than any other rose I recall having. Very nice rose champagne and very food versatile.

New Years Eve Brunch. Ribeyes with hollandaise, spinach, poached eggs and toast. Awesome creaminess to this wine. Disg. 2013.
