Straw. Assertive and pleasant nose of kerosene and lime. On the palate, fresh as a daisy with lots of sherbetty lime flavours. Good length, acidity refreshingly present. Not a great wine, but a very good one, and one that I'm enjoying more tonight (with cheese, strangely) than I did the last time I had it two years ago. There's plenty of life in this yet... 13.5%, screwcap.

Plantagenet (or their UK agent) have distributed a limited quantity of 2004 as a 'museum release' this summer - though that is not indicated on the label. I've had many good experiences with older Plantagenet wines, so thought I'd give it a go.
Screwcap; bright straw in colour; nose surprisingly mature - quite a lot of petrol, just a touch of lime. On the palate, lots of acidity remaining, and a good long, dry finish. Pretty good, though for me evolved further than I would have expected, and with the petrolly notes too dominant.
I will certainly try another bottle or two in coming months, but on the strength of this one will not be rushing out to buy a case - which I would do of their 2010 or 2011 releases.

Nose hints at a little age with some petrol notes and some chalk. Palate is a little unbalanced, some pickled lemon, wax, chalk with a flat spot in the middle - feels like it's been overstuffed but with a little thought it could have fitted together much better. Also has a long and fairly intense finish but ungainly.

Lambton Fridge Tasting - Margaret River (Mereweather Golf Club): Disappointing unfortunately, was expecting abit more. Full of flavour bit lacking decent acidity. More of a drink early style, or perhaps a flat bottle.
