This bottle is not as good as some of my previous tastings, it's very hot at the tail end, some cellar funk is hidden in the wine showing itself on rare occasions but I don't like said funk. Deep rich citrus and tropical fruits galore with some heavy cream mixed in. It's good but it has been much better. Still no sign of slowing down.
Still oaky, with its vanilla bean profile, the past 12 months have added more notes of orange, lemon peel, lime and green apple components to the nose. Soft, silky and forward, this is drinking quite nice today.
Same as last Nov. And I Coravin'd this too at least once in between, but it's in fine shape right now.
The 2011 just has this beat. This wine is a little imbalanced with too much oak on the nose and palate. It's still much better than most Chard, but it's not the elegance I look for in a Lauren. It still has good acidity, but I suggest you drink these up if you have them. This is not a nice food Chard.
