This was consumed from a half bottle and the wine is clearly waning at age 11. Practically no acid, but still quite delicious as a sipping wine showing mostly white peach, vanilla and some faint citrus peel. The mouthfeel was quite round at first but not flabby at all given the lack of acid. The finish was short and abrupt. Drink up if you still have some!
absolutely marvelous, not a bit showing its decade-old age, other than a rich and complex bouquet of flowers, stone fruits and spices. Light gold in color, the wine had mouth-filling fruit and some acidity and medium body. A majestic wine in its prime.
The Magic of The Rhône, Le Petit Sommelier. Deep lemon. Apricots, peaches, vanilla, orange peel, herbal less floral, slightly tropical fruit. Again nose is mirrored on the palate and the rich ripe fruit is balanced by medium + acidity. Citrus & apricots flourish on the mid palate and there's candied orange on the finish. Not as rich as the Hermitage but still lovely.
