Well balanced. Prominent nose, blackberry and smoke. Palate is consistent, perhaps some cut hay lingering in the background. Medium weight. Would never know it is 14.8% alc. Great value at $26. I'd disagree with my predecessors re it being tart. Healthy tannins.
Medium red color, not fully opaque. Mild nose of cranberry, red fruit, spice notes. Cherry, dark red fruit in mouth. Nice combination of tart/bright plus tannins. Not as sensual as a David Girard like Pinot, but more 'classic grenache' flavors & profile at 14.8%. Another great find from the Sierra Foothills.
