First one of these in almost nine months. Definitely better than any of my previous bottles. Still dark and earthy on the nose, but the palate seemed noticeably richer this time - with better depth and concentration to its black cherry and dark currant fruit. There's tremendous intensity on the mid-palate and good length to its violet- and mineral-laced finish. Juicy and delicious, showing plenty of unmistakable Tuscan terroir. 50+5+12+17+7=91
Continuing to age well. Starting to lose its dark fruit notes so if you like them younger drink soon. But gaining even more earthy, dried leaf tertiary notes. Still good structure with moderate acidity/tannins and a medium finish. Should last another 5 years if you older wines, peaking or just past if you like them on the younger side.
