Monthly Tasting Group HWS #070; Germany: TOP Riesling by an importer. (By AS): Fairly dark yellow. A lot of minerals in the bouquet and also elegant fruits. On the palate a full bodied and even a bit fat wine, with smoke, minerals and flint stone. Ripe yellow fruits like mango and also tart lime. Good length and beautiful acidity is what is in the last impression.

Honey, pear fruit and flinty minerals on the nose. Swells on the palate as sweet fruit, orange acid then burnt sugar, woodsmoke and a stony bitterness pass in turn.

Medium gold color. The nose is not giving much, just some pears and a bit of minerals. On the palate more pears, apple dipped in caramel, smoke. Good bitterness with a short to medium finish. I saved half for the following night and it got worse, disjointed, a bit alcoholic and even more closed on the nose. I'm not sure what to make of this bottle, damaged? Shut down? I'll give my remaining 2 bottles more time and hope for the best.
