On the pop, this is ok to good. But almost instantly falls apart into a hot, alcoholic mess. Draino. Way outside my style zone. Think nice rich pinot flavors blended with Everclear.

Upon open, this was very disjointed, had a bit of heat on the nose and a bitterness on the finish. Obvious brick color around the edges with a clear membrane surrounding the edges. Decanted for over an hour and tried again. What a different wine! The nose became expressive with cherry and spice. Flavors of ripe cherry and raspberry with some vanilla, leading to a smooth finish. The earlier harsh finish was completely gone. Very nice wine.

Bog bold fruit and a bit of heat, at least on the pop. Almost a port-like note on both the nose and palate. If I had sipped this on its own, it wouldn't have been my favorite....a bit too much. But as a pairing with Spicy Shrimp BLTs, it was killer. Had enough body to stand up to the spice heat. 90+ points as a pairing.

Medium-bodied and very smooth, this shows nice savory and dark cherry, a lively core of acidity and a medium+ finish. Beginning to show signs of fading, this should be consumed in next 18 months for best enjoyment. 14,7% abv
