  Finishing off a lovely Leoville Poferre evening with this gem, popular at the table tonight. Mature with lovely aromas of citrus, hawthorne, a touch of pear. Precise acidity supporting the RS. Really went down in a jiffy, did not feel too sweet to anyone of the tasters. 94+

  This one should win an award for Most Improved Player. So dramatically different and better than earlier bottles. Maybe it just needed that much time? While still on the sweeter end of the Spatlese range, this time the acidity was there in balance and it was a refreshing compliment to the richer Thanksgiving foods. Was just so happy too see this blossom. A delicious showing. Golden apple, some light apricot, just a little spritz. Danced on the palate. So it really was a Donnhoff after all!
