50th Birthday Celebration...COVID Delayed (Northbrook, IL): Popped and poured. Earth, tobacco, black cherry and cigarbox aromas with a slightly sweet hint that added charm. Good weight and balance. Very good now, especially for the vintage.

Good showing. Aged and dusty red fruit. Very subtle now, but still clean and sound with light berry fruit and tertiary earth notes. Wisp of acid provide some balance and presence. Drink it quickly, begins to fade with air. Still nice at 48 and provides a pleasurable experience if you like aged bdx.

Impressive showing from a 46 year old. Gentleness was the hallmark for this wine.... Gentle red mainly strawberry fruits, gentle minerality and a lovely gentle balance from the acidity. As with the last reviewer of this wine, enjoy it for what it is and you will be well rewarded.

Very pure, well delineated with rose hip tea, mushroom broth, tobacco and leather. Balanced acidity and nice grip, but not much power nor depth. In less lyrical terms: A bit thin, although it does build body with air.
But the purity is excellent, and it does linger on the palate for quite some time.

Another lovely mature Bordeaux, beautiful, bit more acidity than the 2 70s before this - the Ducru Beaucaillou & Duhart
