Opened and consumed without decanting. The wine posessed a tight nose offering little. Using a Ventouri to put some air into it helped a little, but it still seemed somewhat closed. The wine is definately full bodied with a chocolate/ red fruit profile. The tannins had disappeared, leaving it a little one dimensional. All in all nice, but I was expecting more.

This started out impressively with raspberries and iodine on the nose. Earth, leather, and minerals appeared along with a greenness that at first was positive but after the first glass seemed to become more prominent with time with a negative correspondence of the fruit. This bottle seemed past peak.

Nice wine, but clearly past peak despite being stored in nice conditions... Some black raspberry, chocolate and oak on the nose and palate. Decent finish, although a little jammy.

Wow! From the 1st sniff this wine had it all going for it. I got this in '04 from a United Way auction, donated by our Argentina distributor. The entire label was in Spanish so this was not a US export bottle. Tremendous stuff with sweet rasberries and a wonderful earthy nose. The finish lasted 30-40 seconds. This was the kind of bottle that makes you very sad when you pour the last glasses for everyone.
I drank this because there is another case of the 2001 up for auction again and I know I will now be bidding as hard as I can for at least 3 bottles. While this was drinking excellent tonight it had the 'stuff' to keep for another 5-7 years.

Good nose, fantastic and smooth taste with a slight fruit finish.
