Decanted for 2 hours. On the nose, aromas of blueberry, violet, ash, fresh figs. On the palate, the tannins are well integrated and it's elegant. There is some smokiness at the end. Still has a few years before reaching its peak.

Tasted next to 2010 Rostaing Cote Blonde. Expressive nose - dark flowers, pepper, smoke, tar, bacon. On the palate more elegant than the former, very harmonious and balanced, wonderful fruit, minerality, well-integrated acidity with ripe tannins providing structure and grip. Complex and layered with lovely persistence. Excellent. 94-96

Grateful for samples from Tim. About 2-3 hours of air in Voss bottle already. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance is cloudy, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of dark meat, vioelts flower petals, lavender, earth, dark red plums, blackberries, black cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium- alcohol (12.5%), soft integrated medium+ tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, blackberries, dark red plums, lavender, iron earth, dark meatiness, inner smoke. Long finish. Excellent quality. So damm good. Top echelon Syrah.

2010 Was a Good Vintage in France (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL): Open 3 hours, splash decant. Layered and complex for the first sniff. Red and black cherry with roasted meat, olive tapenade, and Indian curry spices. So well balanced, great length. Upside from here.
