After letting this decant (read - some sitting in glass for a little with swirling, and the rest in bottle corked/shaken/uncorked a couple of times) there was little to sign of the fizz/secondary fermentation. It still took a little bit of extra time for some funk to blow off (likely just remaining CO2), but after that was gone, this was a nice smooth, almost silky wine. Not too complex but there was a bit of spice and good some good dark fruit. Not fabulous but certainly worth the $8 if you have the time to treat it right.
