(Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Thal) ($29.00) Very deep löss covered with red sand give what I think is Ludwig’s signature GrüVe, the one that is most crucially a Hiedler wine. And this is just excellent hi-def cool-vintage Thal, just the way I like them best; all its rich exotica in a firm binding of organized structured flavor; the iron and leaf-smoke are strong this year, and the finish is long and spicy.

Still very delicious!! medium body, prickly acidity, green veggies, white pepper. Fantastic pairing with Fenugreek Cream Curry Lamb popsicles!! Even better 2 days later with pulled pork and cole slaw. Fantastic QPR. Absolutely no signs of age. Good GV doesn't even budge for 10-12 and then just keeps going!!

Well matured at this point, quite oily in texture, dark yellow with greenish tone. Mature yellow fruit, Golden delicious apple, heavier on the oak than noticed in previous bottles. Developing nicely.

Another great bottle. Lovely balance between acidity and vibrant fruit. Still, however - don't let it get above 10-12C, when the oiliness takes over.

Pretty much consistent with previous note, although more citric than I remembered, with sharper acidity. Unsure if it's just bottle variation, but this one seemed like it needed a couple of years more to come together.
Edit: Leaner on the second day. 88-89 p
