No detailed notes. Strong hints of savory, meaty on the palate. Overall medium+ body. Most of the structure (acidity/tannin) is gone / fully resolved. Drinking well, perhaps near peak. No need to hold any longer.
Deep ruby in colour. Lovely nose of blackcurrants, plums, menthol and pine. Drinking very well now, very smooth and silky textured. Mainly blackfruit on the medium palate, with soy sauce, pencil shavings and a streak of sweet fruit that clearly identifies it as New World. Nive secondary notes here, but it should last several years yet easy. Very smooth, easy to drink wine (A-).
Checking the bottle out last weekend, there were signs of seepage, so decided to open this for our annual Xmas dinner. No sign of damage and the large format meant it was tasting rather you. Chocolate, dark cherries and good acidity to provide freshness. Nice wine that would probably be drinking a lot better from bottle.
