  • A surprisingly mature wine. The colour became a little bit brown. The oak, spices and prune aroma was so elegant and fully integrated. Good taste of fresh sour prune, dark plum, chenpi (dried mandarin peel) and dried plum. The acidity was so bright, powerful and also comfortable. The tannin was firm and muscular while keeping the finish comfortable. With some black berry and dark cherry aftertaste. An all-round excellent performance of classic style of Rioja wine. Still performed beautifully on 6th day after opening with re-cork.

  • A bit off and with signs of starting to go downhill. Not much depth and a bit high in acidity. Drink now.

  • Deep maroonish red in color. This wine really took awhile to open up. At first herbal and with some ackward wood notes, I had almost written it off. But with time cherry notes came followed by coffee, earth, anise, and light smoke(the day after the campfire). In the mouth this wines has tannins that are pretty much faded into soft velvet pillows, with a somewhat strong acidty, indicating that a few more years might still remain in this wine. Cherry is the primary fruit with some dusts of cinnamon, anise, and faint herbal hints. Nice wine, elegant, simple, nothing to complex. 3/5
