  • served blind, pnp

on the nose a mix of dark and red fruit, plum, still youthful, very precise and high tensions, foliage, hints of herbs, compact and structured, this is very well done and fun to sniff on

palate: wow, this has a crazy and laser-sharp acidity, carries the wine over the whole length, so long, so precise, the fruit plays has its role but is not overwhelming, hints of tertiary aromas. tannins present but rather medium
perfectly ripe fruit, sooo much tension
    very complex and feminin

fun to drink now, but I would hold for another 5-10 y to get to full potential.

  • Tasted alongside two other Rousseau wines - '15 Mazy and '16 Clos de la Roche. This was clearly the best of the three wines benefiting from some additional bottle age. Decanted for 1 hour. Most thought it had more age on it than it actually did. While drinking awesome now, this will only get better over the course of 10 - 15 more years in the cellar.

  • Same btl as rocknroller. Served on the occasion of Kevin's (rocknroller) 60th celebrated at Minikahda Club with 12 of us enjoying Vincent's outstanding food & Nico's depth hand with the wines we brought along. 110pt occasion! This shared a terrific 3 btl flt that also included my '10 Tortochot Chambertin & Jimmy's '08 Lambrays - Clos de Lambrays. I'm beyond grateful to Lonny for sharing this tonight. I thought I would never have the good fortune to to taste Rousseau from my favorite red Burg vintage of the past 25yrs! So, I came prepared with outsized expectations and found a lovely wine in a state of somewhat awkward adolescence. I believe in the producer and the vintage and know this will reach its full potential at a later date. Tonight I appreciated its earthiness, semi tart red fruit and spice. It just didn't feel like a totally in the groove jazz trio tonight, for me. Hoping Lonny has another '10 Rousseau of any stripe for my imminent retirement later this year. 93+

  • It's the Big LX Birthday Bash: No Holds Barred (Minikahda Club, Mpls): Medium red color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. The cork was popped on this at 8am and it was recorked thereafter. A spectacularly perfumed Rousseau nose of dried flowers, fine dried spices, strawberry, strawberry confit, dried red currants, with lots of iron and minerality. The palate is ethereal with its lift, depth and purity. Well proportioned tannins on a mid-weight frame delivers everything one expects from Rousseau with the beauty of the red berries, wild spice, minerals, leather and floral tones on a long, long finish. Drinking extremely well. What a treat - thanks Lonny! 96+ to 97pts.

  • Drank at Home
A bit of a disappointment, still way too young and a brick
