Boxing Day Tasting (Birch Road Cellar - Chicago IL): Single blind CdlR flight of Dujac 2010 & 2012, Rousseau 2012. Sexy, alluring, and lithe. Bright red fruit, supporting savory spice, just enough elegant tannins and acidity - all in perfect harmony. great balance and persistence. Maybe not the most dense vintage ever for this wine, but a great portrait of the vintage.

Single blind Dujac CdlR 10 | 12 | Rousseau 12 CdlR. I found the two Dujac wines rather easy to pick out with distinct whole cluster stem spice. Further, the '10 Dujac was also rather easy to pick out from the '12 is it was more ready to go and seamless vs. the still chunky, backward 2012 Dujac. This is an incredible vintage for this wine and it's drinking splendidly now, and should hold at this level for years to come. My WOTF.

Very clean and pretty, a polished wine that exemplifies the best of this excellent vintage. Hinting at its greatness today, this should be a knockout in 10-15 years.

Acrylic, floral aromatics. Seemless plasticky palate.
