  • A gorgeous bottle that is still very young, but irresistible and delicious now. Pure, bright, rich red fruits accented with spice, toasted herbs, and some oak that will integrate further. Long, seamless across the palate. Another impressive 2010 from Faiveley.

  • Tasted over 2 hrs
-med dark red mild edge clearing
-rich spicy red fruit upon opening then develops some mild funky notes with air
-med/med+ acidity gives excellent focus, med weight med+ concentration full ripe red fruit exuberant spice during first hour then develops some mild funky toasted grain and creosote notes and a bit medicinal after 2 hours, has a nice saline element along with slightly chewy med tannins
-wonderfully spicy ripe red fruited wine if somewhat flashy and bordering on new world, really impressive for the first hour but then what appears to be some brett makes its presence known

  • Tasted over 2 hrs and day 3
    -dark red minimal edge clearing
-iron wet stone red fruit soil; some spiciness emerges on day 3
-med acidity, med weight and concentration pronounced iron mineral note brightens up and lifts the somber earthy fruit, tannins are fine but med+ intensity; more focused and a little lighter on day 3
-this is all about the earth, the vintage characteristics make this come alive and shine through the underlying rusticity, still seems a bit tightly wound - probably better in a few more years

  • Disappointing. Very concentrated and precise in the mouth. Excellent structure and minerality. But a muted aroma and inflection of flavor, which I assume is brett.

  • Had this at our New Year's Ever pinot showdown next to a bottle of the same varietal from Oregon, BC, Argentina, and New Zealand. To be expected, it showed the most blend of finesse, complexity, and length. Featured the "wet stone" and mineral characteristics of NSG, but had great and harmonious fruit to balance it out. A very good wine! Note to self: keep last bottle for another 5 years to see its true potential.
