  • PnP. ABV 13%. A plot next to Griottes Chambertin. Best bottle so far from the case. Clean and expressive nose. Fresh acidity of the vintage, very Gevrey Chambertin on the palate with plenty of dark soils and flowers. Finished with some oaks still lingering. Excellent balance with all components in harmony. Delicious village and ready to go. We polished off the bottle in record speed, so easy to drink!

  • Flowers and dark soils on the nose, fairly clean. Sweet and smooth on the entry, fine and soft tannins, good mouthfeel. Dense and rich for a village. Vibrant acidity and good length. Finished with damp earth and oaks lingering. Slightly rustic, almost toward NSG rather than Gevrey Chambertin. Ready to go and should last for a while.

  • According to John Gilman, Aux Etelois sits between Griottes Chambertin and Charmes Chambertin, an interesting plot for a village. Duroche also produces a village from the same plot which is supposedly exceptional. The case just came in from London this week so acidity seemed to be unsettling , most likely travel shocks. Very attractive nose tho, mostly flowers with just a smidgen of dark soils, very Gevrey Chambertin. Soft and round tannins, it’s ready on the palate. Excellent concentration and length for a village, pretty much 1er Cru level. Oaks were still hanging around but that’s probably the producer’s style. Judgement deferred due to volatile acidity continued on over 2 days.
