Michael Schuster Fine Wine Course Day 6 (Headspace, Hatton Gardens, London): Pale garnet, pale rim. Gentle sweet fruit on the nose, hint of game and earth. Developing. Pure fruit, not complex, gentile tannins, silky fresh acidity, nice length. A typical better-quality village wine, has plenty of life left in it.

Welcoming 2023 with Great Wine (State Street Manor - Chicago IL): Mostly red fruit with engaging spice. Good enough weight, better balance and charm. Very good now through the next couple of years.

Lovely red and black fruit. Very expressive but a bit simple and a touch flabby.

At peak with dark cherry fruit, subtle oak, and a hint of stems and smoke. While not complex, this is very pleasing with balance and resolved tannins.

Fragrant sous bois, mixed red/black berry and strawberry fruits. A little tart on the palate, light body, slightly warm, short-medium length finish.
