1999 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (SE Wine Collective): Pretty hefty aromas. Strangely, this smells like Cheddar sunchips covered in sunscreen to me. With that though is cherries, cola, and beautiful blueberry. Sounds weird, but it was quite pleasing and diverse. Very nice palate entry, nearly elegant and smooth. Lovely acid and beautiful, real fruit. Really lovely acidic tartness balances this beautiful, meaty fruit. The finish is tons of acid balanced with that wonderful fruit. Soft, elegant finish with wonderful balance. This is a wonderful aged Oregon Pinot. Quite light on its feet compared to the more recent Pinots Peter makes. Wish he stuck with this style.

1999 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir (SE Wine Collective): Beautiful classic cherry nose, some cola and crushed dried flowers. Then big but integrated acid in the mouth with big ripe fruit and a long finish. If someone wanted to know what textbook Oregon Pinot should taste like, I'd point them here. Classic, clean, pure, nice adicity. Very shocked when this was revealed. Great vineyard and you can see why the French wanted it.

Oregon Pinots Ten Year retrospective 96-00) (Lou's): My #2, but the groups WOTN. Sineann tends to dominate the five year tastings so it is not surprising that it "won" the first ten year event. Ruby/purple in color. The nose has cherries and spice and a touch of vanilla. With air some funk came out. This is not yet a full maturity. Soft texture. Cherries with mild tannins. An almost menthol like quality on the finish. This is complex and delicious. Proof that the fruit forward Oregon Pinots age just fine.
