From the bottle, cool: a tannic, astringent mess. With a few hours of air exposure, and a little warming, becomes a very good glass indeed, with medium body, plump red fruit, and fine, sandy tannins that convey a typically Pernand feel of slightly rustic earthiness. Very satisfying and beautifully balanced. Very sensitive to temperature - a little too cool and you’ll miss the wine’s goodness. Cool room temperature is right.

Lovely fragrance and pure, clean fruit. On opening the acidity is prominent, but resolves nicely with air. Red cherry, hints of field strawberry, and some depth. Opened 90 minutes ahead; decant 30 minutes before drinking. A very well-balanced 2010 with some complexity and precision.
Tuesday Night Double Blind <$40 (Alpharetta, GA): See through pale maroon; slight candy on the nose, crunchy red berry, spice, liqueur, orange spice; sour raspberry on the palate, young, juicy, cranberry, nice texture, taut, high acid, restrained tannin; tasty.

This was good. One of these producers where “needs time” is really true.
