  • Stunning example of old Tempier. It has shed all its baby fat but you can tell it was once a dark, tannic and broad shouldered wine. Today it is a brilliant medium ruby color. Still fresh with spicy red fruits on the nose with leather, dried plum and subtle herbs.

A real treat to taste one of these with proper age. While it is drinking beautifully now I'd say drink up.

  • Cork was a bit of a challenge but removed without fragmenting into liquid. Dark red. Initially this seemed quite powerful and undeveloped but with air developed complexity. Quite a good match for a Peter Luger steak. Mourvedre ages well - this was cellared since release about 28 years ago!

  • Tempier: An outstanding old Migoua. Showed a bit horsey, but drank very well.

    Superbe

  • a Prévost.
93-94 pts

Rockss and Fruit

(Domaine Tempier Bandol Cuvee Migoua) This was richer and bigger than the 1986 Tourtine. Perhaps a bit riper and jammier but still wonderfully stanky (Provence, horse, red fruits) with uplifitng acidity. I actually think I preferred the Tourtine but that is splitting hairs based on a small stylistic difference.
