Opened up to the nose slowly, after reached room temperature blackberry came up up front with a hint of citrus in the back, acidity slightly above normal, medium finish, it needs more cellar time, however, I am not sure if it will go that much far.
Opened and placed in a brown bag for a blind tasting of California Syrahs. This was brought in as the outlier. A Bordeaux blend from Washington. Opened about 1 hour before the tasting and then followed over a 3 or 4 hour period. Tasted with food. The bottles were labelled with movie quotes. This was tagged with a line from The Princess Bride. Inconceivable. You use that word a lot. I do not think it means what you think it means.
ThiS was quite approachable. Black and red fruits. Some dried herbs and dried black cherries all in the wine. Some red meat note and licorice on the finish. This had a more inviting and approachable flavor in the midst of tasting young Cali-Rhone wines.
