With sautéed scallops, white rice, roasted carrots. Pretty, almost sparkling, gold. Nose of pear, pineapple, kiwi - clean and inviting. Smooth, citrus, smoke, vanilla, fat. A nice fullness to the wine (the alcohol somehow got integrated nicely). Richer than expected for an estate wine - almost approaching Monte Bello style. Years have been kind to this bottle.
Still one of my go-to wines. You can tell when a wine is good for you, when you see it in your cellar and your hand start reaching out before you start thinking. This is one of those wines for me. Good citrus. Very together and balanced with a hit of oak. Medium to full mouth feel and a long finish

The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like vanilla, walnut, green beans, lemon and pineapple. It tastes like honeydew, pineapple, banana, vanilla, oak, alcohol/hot and butterscotch. The body is full. The wine has oily texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has high acidity.
The wine is clear and bright with a medium lemon colour.
The nose is clean and developing, showing pronounced intensity aromas of oak (vanilla, walnut), developed green fruit (quince), stone fruit (ripe peaches), tropical fruit (very ripe pineapple) and MLF (cream).
The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(+) refreshing acidity. It has low soft tannins and a high well-integrated alcohol. It has a full body with an unctuous texture and pronounced intensity flavours of oak (vanilla, walnut), developed green fruit (quince), stone fruit (ripe peaches), tropical fruit (very ripe pineapple) and MLF (cream). The finish is long.
It is an outstanding quality wine. It has a lingering finish and a lot of fruit concentration. Its concentrated flavours are well-balanced b the high alcohol supported by the freshness provided by the acidity. It also shows complexity provided by well-integrated oak and MLF aromas that do not mask the fruit character.
Can drink now, but it has enough acidic structure and fruit concentration to develop some more tertiary honeyed and nutty aromas and integrate even better the oaky notes in an elegant bouquet over the next 2-3 years.
