I served this in my wine course. Still very young and tannic. Dried cherry nose, cherry and licorice mouth with a grippy tannic finish. The tannins appear to be on the sweet side and very fine grained.
Interesting bouquet of red berries, porcini mushrooms, licorice, and new oak. Palate has nice acidity, good core of fruit and tannins, but lacks complexity and is a bit hot. Finishes short with nice fruit. I'm struggling with young Brunelli these days, failing to see the high scores awarded by critics. I will have to stick to more mature vintages.
