Medium density purple color. Soap box berry on the nose. Palate shows stringent red berry and cherry notes, with a touch of lingonberry and cranberry note followed by some dome stem, Christmas tree and root stock notes indicative of dry soil. Lighter in body than I expected. Well made.
Perhaps a wine to sip rather than quaff--it's hard to drink much of this. Complex bouquet with licorice, black fruit, chocolate, leather, pepper, baking spices, and dust. Heavy, unctuous, with fine tannins. Little acid, I don't think this is one for long keeping, but it's quite brilliant at this stage.
